Self-Care Isn’t Just Face Masks

I mean, sometimes it is, but a face mask can’t fix everything…unfortunately.

Sometimes it means face masks, sweets, and you’re favorite rom-com. On the other hand, it could mean a night out with your girls dancing and being crazy. And then, other times, it means putting on our big girl pants and getting our sh*t done.

Not sure what you need? Don’t worry, I gotchu. Here’s a list of all the different ways you can self-care today, or the next time you need it.

25 Ways You Can Practice Self-Care

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with life:

  1. Sweat it Out
    Lift some weights, go for a run, play a sport you love.
  2. Watch Gossip Girl
    Escape your own problems by getting sucked into someone else’s drama.
  3. Have a Girl’s Night
    Who better to help you unwind than your girls?
  4. Meditate
    However, maybe a girl’s night is too much and you just need to unplug.
  5. Blast Your Favorite Songs
    Blast your faves and just let it all out.
  6. Go For a Drive
    Long drives with good music is like therapy.
  7. Clean
    Messy room = messy life. Correspondingly, something about a a clean room just makes you feel ready to tackle life.
  8. Get Your Sh*t Done
    Sometimes, the only way to feel better is to just do that thing you’ve been avoiding.
  9. Watch Your Favorite Movie
    Even if you’ve seen in 20 times.
  10. Vent
    Call your bf/gf/bff/mom and just let it all out. Trust me, you’ll feel a lot better.
  11. Journal
    Some things you need to get out, but they’re really personal. Write it out to yourself in a secret book.

    Look good, feel good, yanno?
  20. Dress for Success
    Put on your favorite outfit and feel good about it! You look good, girl!
  21. Get Rid of Ill-fitting clothes
    If you have clothes that make you feel bad about your body when you put them on, donate them or sell them ASAP.
  22. Make a List of Things You DO Like About Yourself
    Not just physical attributes, but mental attributes, things about your personality, your accomplishments you’re proud of – all of that.
  23. Ask a Loved One To Tell You What They Love About You
    Everyone needs a reminder sometimes.
  24. Make Yourself a Healthy Snack
    When you feel good on the inside, you glow on the outside.
  25. Do Something You Love
    Whether it’s playing video games, guitar, painting, shopping, etc. just make sure it’s something that makes you happy.
